Scientific content of the Workshop

The possibility to detect, actuate and more generally to control the mechanical movement at the nanoscale opened new exciting technological and fundamental possibilities, at the frontier of modern condensed matter physics optics and nanotechnology.

The aim of this Workshop is to create the opportunity for scientists working in the different fields of nanomechanics, electronic transport, and optomechanics, to meet and share their recent experimental and theoretical advances regarding the study of mechanical modes coupled to quantum transport in nanostructures or to optical modes via radiation pressure or two-level systems. New possible directions related to the field are also represented, like the use of organic conductors, the implications of quantum thermodynamics, or the behavior of driven quantum systems.

The workshop will take place the 3-5th of June 2015, in the campus of Bordeaux University in Pessac, 25 minutes by tram from the center of Bordeaux
